As a self described romance reader, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this novel. But I will say that it rejuvenated my love of reading in all genres.
Fitness Junkie finds it’s heroine in the predicament that we once thought only affected models. Lose weight or lose being apart of the company that she helped catapult into success. Our lead Janey is given this ultimatum by her lifelong best friend Beau, which makes it sting even worse. The run a successful wedding dress company that all the elite want to purchase and Beau states that the company can’t have one of the it’s main faces always stuffing her face.
After her hurt and anger subsides, Janet begins to give some of his poorly delivered advise some thought. And being apart of the NY fashion circle finds her having access to all different types of expertise outlets. Some comical and some downright insane. Free the nipple yoga and treat me like crap SoarBarre may sound fictional but would not surprise me if they did truly exist.
While I found myself feeling angered and offended on behalf of Janey, it also made you want to ask her “Why would you ever put your self worth in the hands of someone else?” and “Do you really expect to eat clay as a way to lose weight?”. lol Yes, that was a diet fad option.
While Janey was willing to take into consideration and try new things to lose weight and get into better shape, she never truly let it run her life. And along the way met some really great new friends, saw adjustments that needed to be made in her currently relationships and also found healthier ways to live life.
I am so glad to have received this book for review. It has really made me want to expand my book genre along with my appreciation for a healthy lifestyle.
